Mass Transit magazine was founded in June 1974 by Charles Carroll Carter. He established the publication to break new ground as the first international trade magazine with comprehensive editorial coverage of all forms of public transit in cities and to provide a much-needed forum for effective communication between people in every phase of the transit industry, including local, state and federal government offcials, planners, developers, manufacturers and users. Now 50 years later, we are the only direct-request publication exclusively dedicated to covering the public transit industry in the U.S. and Canada. We promote best practices for integrated mobility by covering industry news, producing special reports, analyzing industry trends and challenges and developing in-depth profiles of transit agencies and systems. Our award-winning coverage connects people and ideas through content that engages and educates readers as they navigate the new mobility frontier.
