ElastiFlow was created by Rob Cowart, who started the GitHub project in May of 2017. It combined the capabilities of NetFlow, IPFIX, and sFlow with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana) to provide comprehensive network traffic visibility and analysis. The project gained popularity among network and security professionals worldwide thanks to its rich feature set, flexibility, and ease of integration with existing network infrastructures.
